While you are waiting for the cabled scarf photos, here are some pics of the fingerless mittens I made a while ago. The pattern I used was for ordinary mitten and plain, but I ‘lost’ the fingers and end of thumb, and added a cable to the back.
The wool is an aran weight and is Patons Colourworks. It knits up really well
As a result of the very cold weather and an enforced day off work, I have started knitting a twisted cable scarf. I am using Patons Shadow Tweed wool and size 6.5 mm needles – using a pattern that I found on the Rowan website, Cora by Sarah Hatton.
Once I have finished it I will post a pic to let you all see what it looks like, but so far I’m pretty happy with how it’s going.
I wanted to make sure that my new Blackberry Torch phone didn’t get all dirty and scratched in my bag or in my pocket, so I came up with this smart idea. Made from an old (clean) pair of socks, using just the ankle section. I’m rather pleased with it.
